Dr. Narasimha Bhat founded Manipal Dot Net Pvt. Ltd to foster a culture of innovation and hi-tech work.Previously, Dr. Bhat was R&D Director at Synopsys Inc, USA, a world leader in Electronic Design Automation. He was the Managing Director of the Manipal R&D site of Synopsys, where he set up unique university collaborations with NITK, Surathkal and MAHE, Manipal. Prior to Synopsys, he was a Technical Leader at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ. Dr. Bhat holds a Ph. D. in EECS from U.C Berkeley, M.E. in ECE from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and B. E. in E&C from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. Dr. Niranjan U. C. is Director of Research and Training at MDN. He brings more than 18 years of experience and passion in signal-processing. Well known as a teacher and senior researcher, his students have spread far and wide. He was a visiting researcher at Parama Tech Biomonitoring Institute, Fukuoka, Japan in 1994 and 1996. He has been teaching at various levels at the Manipal Institute of Technology since 1986, and is currently a registered PhD advisor at the Manipal University. He was guest faculty at Mangalore University, NMAMIT Nitte, and Karmic Manipal.
Dr. Niranjan is a Senior Member of the IEEE and the past national secretary of the Biomedical Engineering Society of India. He has served on the technical program committees of a number of conferences and workshops including IEEE-EMBS Annual Conference, 1998, Hongkong, National Conference on Biomedical Engineering, 2001, Bangalore and National Conference on Knowledge Based Frontier Technologies, 2007, Manipal. He has published over 40 Journal and conference papers. He was winner of the Whitaker Foundation student paper competition in IEEE-EMBS Conference, Paris 1992 and the Young Investigator Award, ICSE Conference, Arizona 1996.
Dr. Niranjan holds a PhD in Electrical Science from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; M. Tech from KREC Surathkal and Bachelors in Electronics and Communication from the Gogte Institute of Technology Belgaum. Dr. Prashanth Bhat is Chief Technology Officer at Manipal Dot Net. He brings over a decade of international quality research, experience and exposure in computer systems and software development. His areas of expertise include Internet search engine technology, parallel and distributed high performance computing, embedded systems, logic design and FPGAs.
Most recently, he was a Research Engineer at Yahoo! Research, Santa Clara, where he architected some of the key components of Yahoo!'s next generation 'Contextual Match' advertising infrastructure. Prior to this, he worked with Yahoo! India's Advanced Technology Group, developing a distributed systems platform for Machine Learning applications. He has worked on the core technology of Web Search engines for over six years, during his tenures at Yahoo! Inc (USA), Overture Services, and Alta Vista Search. As a summer intern at HP Research Labs, Palo Alto, he developed new process scheduling techniques for HP's high-end parallel servers.
Dr. Prashanth Bhat graduated with a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, a M. E. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and B. Tech in Computer Engineering from KREC (now NITK) Surathkal. He was awarded the Dr. T.M.A. Pai Gold Medal from Mangalore University. He also secured the 5th rank in the 12th standard, in the state of Karnataka. He won the Best Technical Presentation awards at both graduate and undergraduate levels, and the Best C Programmer award during his undergraduate studies.
During his graduate research at USC, he developed analytical models of high performance parallel systems and distributed heterogeneous systems. He proposed new scheduling algorithms for interprocessor communication, using techniques from Operations Research and Shop Scheduling. These models and scheduling techniques were applied towards enhancing the run-time performance of high-end signal processing applications.
He holds 2 US patents and has authored about 15 international publications. He served as Industrial Track Chair at the International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium (IPDPS) 2001, and has been a reviewer for JPDC, IPPS, ICPP, Proceedings of the IEEE and Supercomputing Conference. Srikanth has over 15 years of experience in design and implementation of circuits and boards for demo systems, development platforms and evaluation systems including a key role in developing the Freescale Tower from concept to a production ready package.
At Zeta Infotech, Srikanth led the remote site setup and administration activities as an Executive Director and also made significant contribution in the area of Logic design/corner cases analysis as a Sr. R&D Engineer. Prior to that he has worked as a Teaching Faculty in E&C Dept of NITK Surathkal and MIT Manipal for various courses.

Dr. Vinay Kumar has been a Member of Technical Staff at Manipal Dot Net since November 2006. His areas of expertise include Computer Vision and Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Linear Algebra, and hardware acceleration of computationally intensive tasks on FPGAs and GPUs.

He has authored about 15 international publications.
Dr. Vinay has worked as a Bio-Imaging Engineer at Aureon Biosciences Corp, NY, USA; as a Machine Vision Consultant at E-Governments Foundation, Bangalore; a Pattern Analysis Consultant at Mapunity Information Services, Bangalore; a summer intern at AT&T Research Labs, and has been a Teaching Assistant for various courses at MIT.

Mahadeva Mardithaya has more than 30 years of experience in software engineering and has held various technical positions in reputed multinational organizations. Before joining Manipal Dot Net Private Limited as senior member of technical staff in 2011, he was a senior manager of software development at Symantec Corporation, Mountain View, CA, USA. He has managed software product development projects from concept to release across geographically distributed teams. He has extensively used agile software development processes and object oriented design methodologies in various software projects.
He holds a B.E. degree from Mysore University and is a first rank holder for Electronics and Communications Engineering for the University. He is also a Project Management Institute certified PMP (Project Management Professsional).

Srikanth Shenoy possesses 20 years of experience in the software and consulting industry – product engineering and projects. He is proficient in full-lifecycle project development comprising of inception, planning, analysis, design, development, testing and deployment. He is an experienced hands-on systems and solutions architect with key focus on seamless enterprise architecture with expertise in entire spectrum of key Java based technologies ranging from web architecture to transaction intensive scalable end-to-end enterprise systems, databases and frameworks. Srikanth has continually demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills and is an outstanding team player and leader.
From 2008 onwards, Srikanth has worked with several Sun Microsystems and Oracle partners in delivering Sun/Oracle stack based solutions. He was also instrumental in securing Oracle Silver Partner level in implementation and delivery of JavaFX based solutions. He developed and contributed a JavaFX based Dependency Injection Container with majority of capabilities found in the popular Java equivalent – Spring Framework. He was also part of the engineering team of an innovative payment processing product development company based in Houston, Texas.

Between 2004 and 2008, Srikanth also architected and implemented service oriented systems with special emphasis on end-to-end security for financial organizations such as JPMorgan Chase, Federal Reserve Bank (SFO). In addition to designing software implementation roadmaps for customers, he also played pivotal role in its implementation during this period under BMC/Sun Microsystems. He has developed intellectual property, best practices and blueprints as part of Field Competency Center and Java Center of Excellence (JCoE) at Sun Microsystems in addition to delivery of software projects. The use case driven automation of secure identity provisioning and management envisioned, designed and developed by him drastically reduced the time to market for security systems implementation saving customers time, effort and money. It also gave an edge over competing products.
From 1999 to 2001, Srikanth designed and developed a business-critical web based supply chain and logistics planning and management system for a leading intermodal transportation logistics provider in midwest using Weblogic, iPlanet Directory Server, IBM HTTP Server, Rational Rose, Oracle, Vitria, TOPLink and several open source frameworks. Srikanth’s responsibilities in this project were to assist in the application architecture, design and develop the framework and EJBs, deploy EJBs, develop XML based B2B integration solution using Vitria and performance tuning the system in general and EJBs in particular. This work, done under tremendous deadline pressure, led to the successful deployment in time and budget. He played a major role in assembling this team and interviewed several candidates for hire.
From June 1998 through December 1999, Srikanth led the development team at Caterpillar, where he led the effort of designing and successfully deploying one of the first WebSphere based system in Caterpillar when J2EE was in its infancy. His primary responsibilities were servlet framework design, Javabean component development with VisualAge, internationalizing the system, developing PL/SQL Stored Procedures and mentoring developers.
Previously, Srikanth worked as a developer on projects for a number of clients such as Sun Microsystems, Allied Signals and Nordstrom He has used a variety of technologies such as C++, Client side Java, VB and mainframes. During this time he worked at Infosys, one of India’s largest software companies.
Srikanth's book on software development with Struts was best seller in its category (Amazon.com) for some time. The book was also selected as a textbook and supplementary reading in various college curriculums and corporate extension programs (at companies such as General Electric, Harris Bank, Sun Microsystems, U.S. Naval Credit Union etc.). He also devised crash course/training programs for software professionals for accelerated software development. He has contributed to open source software projects such as Struts (Tiles and JSF Integration), JewelBox (Model Driven Architecture) and FXObjects. He had contributed to several print and online magazines and presented at Java User Groups and symposiums.
